CFP: Sixth Annual RefoRC Conference 2016 Copenhagen

26-28 May 2016, University of Copenhagen

The Sixth Annual RefoRC Conference 2016 will be held May 26-28, 2016 and will hosted by the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Theology.

The theme of the plenary papers is: ‘Church’ at the time of the Reformation – Invisible community, visible parish, confession, building…?

The conference aims at a clarification and a discussion of the different concepts of church in the 16th century: What did the reformers think about the essence and origin of the holy, apostolic and Catholic Church? What was seen as its aim, its purpose? Can human beings see the true church or not? Does it have one existence in this world and another in the world to come?

The conference is open to individual short paper presentations (20 minute presentations, 10 minute discussions) and to thematic sessions of two or three short papers. It is also possible to attend the conference without presenting a paper. While we encourage papers on the conference theme, papers can focus on all disciplines related to the 16th century reformations, such as arts, philosophy, law, history, theology etc., independent of the theme of the plenary papers.

Short paper proposals and registrations can be submitted via the online registration form. Short paper proposals are welcome before February 15, 2016.
