Workshop: Your Right To Know
28-29 November 2013, Roosevelt Study Center
On November 28-29, 2013 the Roosevelt Study Center and the University College Roosevelt in Middelburg will host a workshop focusing on those public educators and commentators who promoted ideas on active citizenship through the mass media in the early years of the cold war.
The scope of the workshop is to analyze the way in which prominent individuals used the mass media to improve citizens’ democratic participation and public awareness on the most urgent and compelling issues of the first twenty years of the cold war. The hope is that this workshop will develop innovative international and multidisciplinary collaborative research and generate academic interest so that publications and other conferences will be possible.
